The studio
We renovate homes the way we'd renovate our own — slowly, properly, only once.
Heartwood is a small, fully-employed crew of carpenters, joiners, plasterers and tilers led by two project leads. We don't subcontract anything load-bearing and we don't disappear after the snag list. Every project gets one point of contact, a fixed quote, and a weekly progress reel sent straight to your phone.

How we work
A four-step process. No surprises in week six.

Consultation
A 60-minute visit on site or video call. We measure up, listen to how you live, and leave with a rough budget band you can take to the bank.

Design & quote
Drawings, material boards, a stage-by-stage quote and a calendar. You sign off before any tools touch your house.

Construction
Single in-house crew, weekly reel sent to your phone, one project lead on Whatsapp. Site cleaned end of every Friday.

Handover & warranty
Walkthrough, snag list closed within 14 days, 10-year structural warranty issued. We check in at 6 and 12 months.

The questions we get on every first call.
How much does a full kitchen renovation cost in London?
Most of our kitchen renovations land between £55k and £160k depending on size, joinery, stone choice and whether structural work is involved. We'll give you a budget band on the first visit and a fixed quote after the survey.
How long does a typical project take from quote to keys?
Design and quote: 2–4 weeks. On-site work: 4–22 weeks depending on scope. A kitchen is usually 8–14 weeks; a basement 16–24 weeks. We give you a Gantt chart at quote stage.
Do you handle planning and Party Wall agreements?
Yes — both. We work with two architects we trust on planning applications and have an in-house Party Wall surveyor for adjoining-owner agreements. Both costs are listed separately on the quote.
Will we have to move out?
For a single-room renovation, usually no — we hoard off the working area and keep the rest of the house liveable. For full-house or basement projects we'll be honest at quote stage if it's not workable to stay.
What does the 10-year warranty cover?
All structural work (steels, openings, underpinning, roof structure) and water-tight elements (tanking, flat roofs, wet rooms). Wear-and-tear items like paint and door furniture carry a 24-month guarantee.
